Swordbreaker is a Russian visual novel which made me think of the old Fighting Fantasy or Choose-your-own-adventure books. The interface was very clumsy which was a feat in itself for this simple genre. There were sudden deaths with no warning whatsoever. It all felt very random and arbitrary. To progress was not really a question of making logical choices but mostly of luck with trial and error, and then remembering what you did on further runs. As an example of the nonsense, if you tapped a pipe at the blacksmith's instead of going to another room, it triggered a nuclear explosion. Really.
