Besides a small interlude with a PS2, I’ve been a PC gamer my whole life, as such, I’ve been mainly exposed to genres that thrived inside the PC space: Point and Clicks, RTSes, FPSes, CRPGs, and of course, Space-sims. Ever craving novelty, I got into the niche of hybrid genres, and a mix that I never got to see for the longest time was the FPS/free range Space-sim type, certain games have superficially explored it, Star Wars: Battlefront 2, with the space-ship fights and boarding actions, is the most famous example, but there was never a game that fit that category in a story heavy sense.
