Instead, focus on the person, and let the disability lend an interesting mechanic. Again, because it's the only decent option I've seen, I have to draw a comparison to The Vale. By the end of the first tutorial, you know she is a princess, you know she is slightly jelous of her brother, you know she loves her uncle, you know there's a comfort between them and they can make jokes readily that are far less on the nose than blind drunk, you know she has been trained to fight all her life, you know she has ambition, but feels held back. The word blind is only mentioned once, the word sight is only mentioned once.
